Talking about the times

2020 is not off to a great start. The year kicked off with bush fires blazing in Australia, killing millions of animals, and causing mass evacuations.

Then there was tension following the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, prompting rumors and fears of World War 3.

Now we have a pandemic on our hands and the world is in chaos. Schools are closing, entire countries are being shut down, and people are self-quarantining as COVID-19 makes its way around the country.

Cleaning products and sanitary products are flying off the shelves faster than the virus is spreading. People are stocking up on food and water in preparation.

It's scary and surreal. We don't know enough about this virus or what exactly it is capable of. We have no idea how long it will wreak havoc on the world, which is one of the scariest things to me.

It's beginning to feel like we're living in a dystopia, and this is only just the beginning, at least for America.

Some might believe this is God's judgement, or that these are the end times, but the world has been through this before and has recovered. There will most likely be other deadly pandemics in the future. Hopefully far into the future, and not in my time.

Already the situation seems to be improving in China. We may have to sit tight and wait this out, but we will get through as a society, and things will return to normal.

In the meantime, wash your hands, don't touch your face, drink lots of water, avoid public places and try to stay positive.
